apparently, i am glowing. no, not like those stupid twinkling vampires from the twilight series, but glowing. how on earth this fact was brought up, i'm still not sure, but that's what happens when i work with two moms who mean well but still are moms.
one asked me a few days ago if there was a beau in my life, since her college sophomore daughter is entering into her first relationship and the parentals are a little protective. the week before she told me i was really growing into my young adult-beauty. so i wasn't surprised by the question; i've had various coworkers tell me who i should date for the past two years now - it's just slowed down lately so i thought i was in the clear. nope, guess not! i feigned laughter and said no, i'm just too busy. which is completely true. and was accepted. and as my boss noted, it's not like there's a lot of people my age in this town to hang out with or get involved with (unless you hang out in the bars, which is just a big no-no unless it's a major holiday or birthday).
ohhhhhhkay, awkward moment passed. right?
wrong.
the next day, i was getting complimented on my cinderella costume from halloween (i managed to be the hit of the day for my other boss's 6-yr old daughter, so i know i rocked it). boss #1 said how pretty i was (make up & prom dress = hard to go wrong), and then boss #2 says i'm glowing. of course, then comes the "are you SURE you're not dating someone?!?" comments...uhm yup, pretty sure. i think i would know if i was, or atleast i hope i would.
so this leaves me trying to figure out where the "glow" is coming from...i'm beyond busy & often stressed this year due to school and work and coaching, but it's nothing i haven't managed before. to be honest, the only major change has been getting back in the pool to maintain sanity, and the new coach being an awesome guy to work with. sure i might have a small school girl crush on him, but is that really evoking a glow?? maybe, maybe not. but either way, i think the amount of laughing i'm doing every practice must be having a positive effect on my appearance.
and i'm TOTALLY ok with that!
