i solo coached yesterday afternoon for 3 hours. awful. middle schoolers will be the death of me. and i thought high schoolers were bad...atleast they have brains, even if they don't choose to utilize them all the time. middle schoolers have no brain. at all.
but then, after i was dreading saturday's 3 hours because of friday, i had a wonderful saturday morning practice! it helps to have only 12 kids total (7 in 1st practice, 5 in 2nd) so there was more one-on-one interaction, in addition to the several hugs i received from the little 7-9 year olds! and seeing swimmers outside of practice, yelling "coach megan! coach megan!" really brightens your day, no matter how bad it is :)
however, i made the mistake of taking a wally-world trip today after practice...let me tell you, even though this town only has 8-12,000 people, saturday afternoons at wal-mart are a NIGHTMARE. i hate crowds. and when i walk in to every single check-out line back-logged with customers and familys, i cringe. i hate going in there anyways, especially alone, so i try to shop-and-dash like a mouse on caffeine. in-n-out ain't got nuthin' on me!
after said trip, i came home to get sucked into oxygen network's "gleekend marathon" which i think has almost caught me up with season 2...thanks to my parents for getting me hooked on glee in the first place. i resisted, not wanting to get addicted to another show beyond grey's, bones, etc., but they gave me season 1 for xmas & of course that was the end. the story line is a little old but the music is worth the hour of sitting.
now on to a sunday full of sleeping & relaxing!
