quirky

a few things i have realized are random factoids about my life:

• i love john cusack's voice.  maybe it's because it reminds me of the animated flick "anastasia," but it's just wonderful.  and he's got really nice brown puppy dog eyes...
• movies made nowadays just don't have the same effect as ones made pre-90's
• my voice has gotten louder & stronger now that i've had to coach; i can be heard across the pool when needed, when before i could barely be heard from 3 ft away...i don't know if i should chalk this up as an accomplishment, or rather as a disappointment that things have come to that
• books & yarn are my addictions
• i almost always have a nalgene bottle or coffee tumbler with me.  coffee is essential in the a.m., but hydration is key in the afternoons thanks to peppermint tea- or lemon-spiked water.  not to jinx myself, but finishing off a nalgene by the end of most days has kept me from falling sick so far this year
• i love people with oddball traits, or quirks...a giddy excitement about unique subjects, like marine tunicates or local fungi or traumatic brain injury.  i think i feel a kinship with their abnormal interests, but also because they can teach me a great deal about things i never would have pursued on my own
