i am on break.

i. am. on. break.

i. am on. BREAK!!!

that's right, i turned in my powerpoint presentation on inclusion today for my class, and as of 10 pm tmrw, am officially on a 2-wk break from classes, thanks to the holidays.  at this point, i half-assed my presentation, but could care less.  helloooooo no stress until jan. 3!

likely, i'll end up doing some work after xmas, since family will be gone & no coach to bug with offers of margaritas and hikes for a few days, but that's ok.  i'm good until after christmas - which is perfect since i still have to make & wrap all of my presents!  the plan this year is to make stockings for everyone, with individualized fabrics.  which requires time.  which i don't really have.

BUT, my perpetual lack of time was somewhat rewarded yesterday at swim practice, when a swimmer said that she wants to grow up like me.  and since coach chad told her he wants to grow up like her (she's 8, btw), does that mean he wants to grow up to be like me??  didn't ask him, but would be interested in knowing the answer to that...

so far, the past 4.5 days have been awesome, despite having to finish up hmwk.  my cousin flew in friday night, we went straight for apps at jeremiah's (clam chowder & sweet potato fries) before i drowsily dropped her off at my grandparents'.  saturday after swim practice involved decorating my grandparents' tree, attempted shoe shopping, a walk around ward lake, and margaritas & a movie that night.  sunday was low-key as we slept in until 10ish (hallelujah, i needed that!) and took the housesitting dogs for a walk down to the beach before family dinner.  i spent all monday in front of my laptop attempting to finish reading & work on my powerpoint, but finished that tuesday afternoon before swim practice(s).  our upcoming plans involve watching sherlock holmes 2, finishing xmas presents while puppy-sitting, and eventually hiking deer or dude mtn as well as a potential christmas night bonfire - way to be alaskan!

my only unplanned plans involve new year's eve, as i am getting ditched by alicia as she heads back south, and potentially by coach since he flies back to ketch that wknd.  and i even have several sequined pieces to wear out on the town!  another con of living in such a small town....ahhh well, probably would be safer & less drama-filled to stay home anyways!

since christmas is fast-approaching, i hope it's a wonderful holiday for all - 'tis the season, so Merry Christmas!
