day 13: a letter to someone who has hurt you recently
dear students, you make my head hurt & sap my energy levels. please take the easier path and COOPERATE with me--i'm trying to help you!! and turn off your damn cellphones, because you are not that important that somebody has to be in constant contact with you. the only people like that are leaders of countries. you definitely aren't there yet, so get over yourself. i shudder at the multitude of information you could be ingesting during the day, when instead you are punching tiny buttons on a tiny portable phone.
if you have homework, come to class prepared and DO IT. don't think that just because you have a study hall, that means you get a "free period" to slack off and do nothing. take responsibility for your grades; we are available to help and guide you, but are not there to do your work FOR you. we've already gone through this part of the education system and survived. my philosophy is: try, and i'll do everything i can to help. don't put in any effort, and i have no motivation to work with you.
don't lie; we do find out. teachers communicate with each other constantly, and we can find out your grades online in seconds. we KNOW if you have work to do, often even before you do! suck it up & just do it. grow up & move on.
love, Ms. B
